New Beginning in the book of Joshua

What an amazing morning at Women in the Word!! I have been in awe of our God all afternoon as I have reflected on all the new faces, returning faces and familiar faces that I saw this morning. Sixteen new women joined our study and I am singing praises to Him!! I know that I know God has great truths to teach us through the study of Joshua and none of us are here by accident.

As you begin reading the introduction and working through lesson one, please reflect on the following questions:

1. Does the brand of faith I live by produce the kind of results in my life that I read about in Joshua?

2. Am I stuck in spiritual survival mode? Am I settling for spiritual mediocrity?

3. Are you thinking that, "This faith thing is just not "working" for me?"

Each of us is called to be a Joshua, each in our own way, in our own circumstances, with our God-given personality. We may not see the same miracles as Joshua, but we serve the same God!! (Excerpt from the book "Sun Stand Still" by Steven Furtick)

So, my prayer for you is that you believe, ask and act. That your faith becomes an audacious faith!!

Retreat 2012 - Put Out into the Deep

What an incredible weekend spent with our AWESOME God!! He was definitely present among us as He healed, comforted, restored, filled, encouraged, taught, spoke and strengthened each woman there. Although I can not meet individually with each of you, I can see your sweet faces in my mind and I praise God for each of you. I am praying that each of you has a desire to meet with Him daily that grows stronger and stronger each day. May you have the resolve and determination to accomplish this 30 day challenge.

I can't wait to hear from you. I want you to use this blog (click HERE) to share encouragements, requests, victories and struggles as you walk this 30 day devoted time challenge. Remember you are not alone and when you awake early in the morning, maybe before it is light, there are sisters from retreat awake with you, meeting with their Heavenly Father. And I know that He delights in you, He is singing over you!!

As you spend time with Him remember to let His Spirit lead you. Each day may be different as you worship, praise and adore Him, thank Him, confess sin, intercede for others and yourself. Remember to pray about your prayer life!! And always be listening for Him, not only in your devoted time, but throughout your day! Purpose to be still before Him.

I was reminded this morning again of the importance to go to my prayer closet to meet with Him as I read, Acts 10:9 "Peter went up on the roof to pray." And as I read further, Peter did hear from God that day, but had no understanding of the meaning of what he heard, but he trusted God and did as he was led. Which led me to pray that I am wholly surrendered and obedient to His leading even when I don't fully understand.

As you spend time in intercessory prayer, remember the sister's "shark" that you prayed for during the walk. Lift her up in confidence before the throne of grace for He lives to intercede for us!! Remember too that you are being prayed for by the sister that placed the cross over your shark! The one song that Beloved sang Friday night said, "His Grace is enough to cover ALL OUR STUFF!" Makes me think of those crosses completely covering the sharks!! He is more than enough!!

Be encouraged Sisters!! Let God deeply in daily!! Believing that our God can do immeasurably, exceedingly, abundantly more than we could ever think, ask or imagine for He is an AWESOME GOD!!

Sweet Sisters,

As our summers are behind us and fall is quickly approaching, we are preparing to begin our 12th year of Women in the Word Bible Study.

I am excited to announce that we will be studying the Book of Ephesians this session. I have been amazed how God has been working in the lives and hearts of the women at Women in the Word and can't wait to see what He has for each of us as we study His Word together.

Ephesians is a letter written by Paul to the church in Ephesus as well as other early churches. As I have read Ephesians this summer, this book was definitely written for us as well. Ephesians puts our problems and our entire lives in the context of eternity.

I would encourage you to read through Ephesians over the next few weeks and I know you will be excited to begin studying this rich, life-transforming, Spirit-inspired Word of God.

The Servant Leader Team and I are praying for you. The specific information regarding the fall study is posted on the blog. Invite your friends! See you soon!!

FALL STUDY TO BEGIN

On Wednesday, September 7, the new semester of Bible study at Women in the Word will begin.

We meet Wed mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 am at Clearwater Community Church.

This Fall, we are studying Ephesians.

What a blessed morning as we gathered together to experience a "Consider Jesus" Walk. Precious time spent with the Lord in praise and worship, quiet, prayer, confession, journaling, reflecting on His Word, remembering the Cross, and taking communion. It was truly better than any study or teaching I could have compiled. What a joy and privilege to gather together as Sisters in Christ honoring and exalting our Savior.

May we remember the costly, painful sacrifice of Jesus as we approach Easter Sunday. May we also celebrate His victory over death, remembering Him until He comes again. As we consider Jesus, take time to consider ALL of Him.......the beauty and the pain in His Offering.

Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty!!!! With voices, hands and lives lifted high may we shout with joy, "Our Redeemer Lives!"

When I opened my email Wednesday evening, one of the servant leaders had sent me the definition of "perturbed" which read as follows: to disturb or disquiet greatly in mind; agitate. What a perfect description of my mindset from the weekend! I have to be honest, the temptation to return to that perturbed mindset remained with me through the week. I had to literally fight against it and only through Christ was I able to respond to a very similar situation this Friday in an entirely different way!! God is good and so faithful. It certainly wasn't that I had no desire in my flesh to be perturbed, but I chose differently through His Spirit. May we be women who choose Christ.....a mindset fixed on things above. Spend time with God each day this week, in His Word and Presence. Oh what truths you will find and the Truth will set you free!!

I want to share some encouragement from LouAnn, one of our Women on the Wall:

Good afternoon, Ladies,

It was good to back in the midst of all the wonderful ladies who attend WIW. What a blessing you are to me.

Joanne's message resounded with so many of us. As I sat in the back and watched the body language, saw the nods and smiles and heard the comments of the girls on each side of me, I think many of us could relate to what Joanne was talking about. It was good to be reminded of that one sentence in our study "I am content with what I know. I am not perturbed by what I don't know." What "if only" perturbs you? Are you like me and sometimes find yourself picking up the past and bringing it to now? If you are, it was good to be reminded that when we do that we lose sight of the faithfulness of God. Only God knows our "what ifs and if onlys" and that is enough for me. I trust Him with my life.

Joanne reminded us to remain in God's word, not just on Wednesday; not just on Sunday; but everyday. The word of God daily vaccinates us against the "what if and if only" disease. Stop being perturbed about what you don't know, but trust your heavenly father with what He does know.

I just returned home from Wednesday morning study and wrote these thoughts after I taught large group. My heart was so full and I want to share.......As we sang and worshipped Him I felt a battle going on in my mind. "You shouldn't teach this. The women will not receive it well. Don't go "there."" I cast those lies and doubts on Him and taught knowing that this was HIS message. I want to take each of your faces in my hands and tell you, "God is good. He loves you like crazy. It is not too late to trust in Him completely. As long as we have breathe in our bodies and a will to submit, we can start afresh with Christ." There is NO condemnation in Christ!!

This topic of FAITH is so much more than we say we believe. It needs to be the foundation of our lives - Obedience to His Word. We need to press on toward the goal to win the prize in Christ Jesus, forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead. This is a New Day and we need to live it for That Day!!

I cannot as teacher of this Bible Study ignore some of the tough stuff. My flesh says not to be "Debbie Downer" and keep things light, but my Spirit says tell the Truth and the Truth will set them free! We talked about That Day and I cringe at the thought that any woman who attended this Bible Study would say, "Hey God, I sat at WIW for years and never heard this." The Truth is going forward and it isn't always easy. The narrow way is costly and hard.

Romans 15:13 comes to mind, "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope." See, joy and peace are found in believing, trusting, in faith which is proven true through obedience. O what joy, peace and contentment come from obedience!!

As I sat in the sanctuary my eyes were drawn to a canvas at the front of the sanctuary and in capital letters it read, "AWAKEN OUR HEARTS."

To God be the Glory. May we evaluate our faith and live in preparation of That Day when we stand before our Savior. Don't haste.....He is coming soon.

Another powerful lesson this week!! I pray God is stirring each of your hearts as we seek to know Him through our obedience. I wanted to share some encouragement that I received from some of the ladies within Women in the Word.......

From LouAnn, a Woman on the Wall within Women in the Word:

I have been carrying our lesson for this week around in my heart. God has so richly blessed America and us as individuals when we compare ourselves with the rest of the world. It is so good to be reminded of that fact when the world reminds us every minute that enough is not enough.

Many years ago, I attended a retreat and the title was "Enough for need, but not for greed". We were asked to list such things as how many televisions do you have, radios, sets of dishes, pairs of shoes, watches, on and on and on (you can fill in the blanks) and then were shown a film clip of different parts of the world and the poverty that exists including in the USA. It was very convicting. We are blessed to be a blessing.

May God richly bless your week as he molds us and makes us into the person He wants us to be.

From Tina, a Woman on the Wall within Women in the Word:

Malachi 3:3 "He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver."

This verse puzzled some women in a Bible Study and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God. One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study.

That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities. The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot; then she thought again about the verse that says: 'He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver.' She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time. The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames it would be destroyed. The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, 'How do you know when the silver is fully refined?'

He smiled at her and answered, 'Oh, that's easy--when I see my image in it.'

If today you are feeling the heat of the fire, remember that God has his eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image in you.

May we allow God's refining fire to transform our hearts. He is wooing us, pursuing us, choosing us. What will you do with this Jesus? Who/what is your Master? What are you running after?

As I sit at my computer, I can hear a bee buzzing outside my window. The Lord quickly brought to mind what happened this Wednesday.......while teaching Bible Study a very large wasp quietly and almost effortlessly flew directly before me and landed on my notes. Nothing too perilous or dangerous, but distracting none the less. I lifted up my Bible, squashed that bee, cast him to the floor, and continued teaching. Isn't that just like the enemy? Flies swiftly and many times quietly into our lives to cause a distraction, just enough to take our eyes off Jesus, loose our train of thought and "freak out." Next time, do what I did: hold up the Word of God, squash the evil one, and cast him aside keeping your eyes fixed on Jesus the author and perfecter of your faith!!

Again I am so blessed and encouraged by the women who share their hearts and stories with me. I want to share two with you:

God has provided us with His Word that enables us to do what we might think is impossible. What a gracious, loving Father we have. Our time together is such a blessing. May God's presence be real to you in unbelievable ways as we serve Him.

The past week of study was very meaningful for me. God really revealed to me how discontent I am with so many roles I have right now. I don't complain out loud, but good grief has He been hearing an earful (since He hears my silent murmurings)! Leaves me at a place of total surrender today. Because in my own power, I CANNOT change my heart. I've tried. I know God's working like this in many lives and just wanted to encourage you today by letting you know what He's been doing with me.

Words cannot express how in awe I am of our Lord!! I find my mind and heart full of His goodness and constant examples of Him working in me and those around me. I frequently smile and shake my head at His amazing provisions. May we all have praise on our lips today as we accept with thanksgiving our assigned portion, walk the line that He has marked out for us and sacrifice our hearts to Him.

As we completed Chapter 5 (Content with (my) Relationships) in the "Calm My Anxious Heart" study, I know God is calling us to overcome. We need to be women who don't just hear a "moving" message and leave with a warm feeling inside, but instead be women called to act when confronted with the truth of God's Word. I know that we are being drawn by God to our own personal times of transformation, growth and victory. I was witness to it today!!

Matthew 11:28-30 repeated over and over in my heart as I watched woman after woman come forward and sacrifice their hearts to God laying them open at the Cross. I will not forget the image of each heart sacrificially laid bare before Him. As tears stung my eyes, I knew that God was pleased, delighted and singing over each of us. I can still hear Him.........

"28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. (I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.) 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet for your souls.) 30 For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good - not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne." Amplified

May this be our prayer each day and may we accept the overwhelming promise of rest through Christ. Remember to measure all by the Cross sacrificing our hearts moment by moment to our Blessed Controller!!

As we have completed four chapters of the Calm My Anxious Heart study, I have seen God working miracles in the hearts and lives of women!! Hearts being physically healed.....hearts being spiritually transformed.....heart attitudes being changed, all through the power of God as we obey and surrender our lives, our minds, our wills, and our hearts to Him. The power of prayer has been evident within our group as well. I see women trusting more and more in God, turning first to prayer, believing and trusting in His answers.

I receive many emails and texts from women participating in the study as they share their story and offer encouragement as they continue on their own journey. I felt led today to share a couple of them:

From Michelle, servant leader within Women in the Word:

"...you are reprogramming a very carnal, fleshly, worldly mind to think as God thinks. Impossible? No! Difficult? Yes! But God is on your side. He is the BEST "computer programmer" around." (Joyce Meyer, "Woman to Woman")

Michelle's response - I think of my walk with Christ over the past 4 years and how true this is. The more and more I walk with him, the less and less sin has control over my life. At the beginning of my walk, I remember feeling that I just couldn't do this anymore! It was easier and more fun in my sinful nature. I lived 32 years that way....I can't expect it to be perfect in 4 years. I've come a long way and can't wait to see how much more I can grow in Him who is my programmer!!

From Helen, servant leader within Women in the Word:

It is so great to share our lives and encourage each other as we walk so many of the same or similar roads. The following are some of the lyrics to "Holy Spirit Have Your Way" by Leeland that really touched me this morning: "...so I'll run to you, surrender all...lay down my life...pick up my cross...what joy to give my life to you...Holy Spirit have your way with me...more of You and less of me...more of You overflowing."

This is so my desire - more of Him and less of me, to let go and allow Him to penetrate my life and lead without taking my pen back, allowing Him to write my story. I am praying that this is not only our desire, but that we act on it, each day. Let's encourage each other to do just that. Imagine what next month will be like if all of us make this choice and act on it!!

God's Word is powerful. His Spirit is beyond comprehension. As we yield and surrender to Him, lives are being transformed. The hearts of Michelle and Helen are just two examples of that! His desire is to make all of us brand new.......forgiven, beloved, hidden in Christ, made in the image of the maker of life. That is you, that is me!! May our reply to Him be a resounding, "YES, LORD!!" as we hold loosely to the things of this world and cling tightly to the one who can sustain us!! O Lord, show us YOUR GLORY!!

Believing that YOU can do all things He calls you to do in and through His strength!!!!

A Thought to Consider 11-22-10

Hebrews 2:14-15 "Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death - that is, the devil - and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death."

We are free because of the precious blood of Jesus. Have you ever considered the fact that you are now set free from the power of evil in your life? So many times we don't live in that freedom.

Think about it for a minute........Do you feel free? Do you actually live in the truth that we have victory over sin and death?

I find my identity in so many things......wife, mom, friend, neighbor, teacher, clothes washer, skilled shopper, housekeeper, the list goes on.......But first and foremost my identity is found in Christ!! I am a daughter of the King. I am defined completely by Him because He died, a perfect sacrifice, to free me from the sin of the past, present and future. There is power in the blood of Jesus to free you and me...completely. Sin has lost its power and death has lost its sting. We should be living in the freedom that He died to provide. I will ask you again, do you feel free? This week as we are busy preparing meals, traveling, and visiting with family may we be first grateful for the freedom we have because of Him. May we then choose to live in it!!

I returned on Monday from a cruise that I took with some of my girlfriends. A "cruise for chics" to be exact. We left Thursday evening and enjoyed time with each other, meeting new friends, laughing, relaxing and eating(more than I care to discuss). It was a much needed time of rest for me personally, but I found myself by Sunday anxious to be home. I missed my family and the comfort of what is most dear to me.

As I spent time with the Lord yesterday I sensed His Spirit asking me if I long for Him like that? Am I so comfortable and enjoy this life so much that I don't look forward with anxious anticipation for my heavenly home? I should be "homesick" for heaven. After all, this place is not our home. O Lord, forgive me for setting my eyes on what is earthly and temporary, finding value and placing priority on the things of this world. Thank you Jesus for your Word that says, "Do not store up for yourselves treasure on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Matthew 6: 19-21

Help me Holy Spirit to set my heart on things above and to be obedient to this command. For He tells us in Revelation 22:20, "Yes, I am coming soon." May my heart be filled with an honest yearning and may I respond like John, "Come, Lord Jesus."

As I prepare for this week's lesson on Hebrews 6, my mind is still full and constantly considering the truth of Hebrews 5:8 "Although he was a son, he learned obedience from what he suffered,"

I keep asking myself.....If Christ learned obedience through his suffering, how much more can I learn obedience through my suffering?

The Holy Spirit completely opened my perspective of "suffering" over the past couple of weeks. I always associated suffering with pain, crisis, tragedy, something big and it is all of those things. But I believe that God showed me that simply in my human sin nature, I suffer everyday. I need to stop waiting for the BIG crisis and realize that He is giving me opportunity everyday to learn obedience. If I learn how to embrace those "daily sufferings," how much more I would resemble Jesus! Life isn't easy. Suffering is hard. But I rejoice in the fact that I have a great high priest, Jesus the Son of God, who has gone through the heavens and sits upon His Throne of Grace. An ever-present help in time of need. A great high priest that is able to sympathize with my every weakness. THEREFORE, I will cling tenaciously to the faith I profess and I will purpose to learn obedience in all my suffering.

Do you ever just long for the day when your calendar is free? There is no where you need to be or nothing you need to do. Those days seem to be available to me less and less. As I studied Hebrews 4 this week, my eyes and heart were opened to the rest that God offers. Not necessarily a time of inactivity, but a spiritual rest, a peace that surpasses understanding. Instead of waiting for that day when I have nothing on my calendar, God is offering me a rest today in my daily routine. As I read a John MacArthur commentary he described God's rest as spiritual, not physical. God's basic promise is to give us spiritual rest, spiritual blessing. He goes on to say that some of God's most faithful, rest-filled believers are the busiest, the hardest working, and sometimes even the most afflicted people imaginable. Yet they are in God's rest. A rest found through salvation and a rest found through faithful submission.

So I have been challenged to diligently seek God's rest this week on a daily, moment by moment basis and I have found Him and the rest He provides even in the midst of an absolutely crazy schedule. I challenge you to do the same. Then let me know what you find.......His grace is sufficient for you!!

As I begin this week I can't help but be humbled and amazed by my omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, eternal and immutable God!!

As Sunday arrived, I found myself physically exhausted. The previous week had been full, my husband had been out of town for 8 days, and it was all catching up with me. How aware I was of my weak and weary human body.

I set out Sunday evening for High School Discipleship at 630pm not sure if I could lead a small group discussion. My brain was too tired and I just couldn't focus. I should have been praying, but I didn't even know what to pray. Ever feel like that? As I walked into the leader meeting, thinking we were on time, we were actually 15 minutes late. UGH.....the lies started.....you should have stayed home.....this is going to be a great night. As we broke into groups to pray for the kids that night, the three women in my group just looked at me and immediately asked if I was okay. I briefly shared that I was exhausted and I know this isn't about me and I'm not complaining and I will be okay:) We closed our eyes to pray and I was immediately lifted up before God. I could feel the Holy Spirit ministering to my Spirit and heart as I was prayed for. My body was delivered from that "exhausted" feeling and God was carrying me through the night.

Once in small group He continued to reveal Himself to me and I was overcome with gratitude and awesome wonder as the Junior Girls and I read Isaiah 40:28 "Do you not know? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth, He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary, and increases the power of the weak." He was speaking directly to me......Joanne, don't you know? Don't you remember what you have heard about me?

If you find yourself weary, exhausted and at the end of your rope......listen for your God is asking, "Don't you know? Remember what I have told you. I am Lord, Creator of all things, I reign over heaven and earth and I will carry you and be your strength. My eyes are always on you. I never sleep or grow tired."

You know He is God......now let Him be God!!

I have been very convicted this past week that as we study the Bible we are reading the very words of God, that they are spoken to and for me. I have prayed that I not rush through them or see them as a story to be simply read and enjoyed. Or words that I can pick and choose what "fits" my life best.

As I opened my God Calling devotional this morning the scripture reference was John 15:11 "These things have I spoken unto you.....that your joy might be full." Yet again God is reminding me that His Truths have been spoken to give me an overflowing joy! That by obeying them in my daily life, He promises a fullness of joy. As I prayed and reflected on this specific devotional, I wanted to share my journal entry: Your desire for me Lord is joy - full and complete joy - overflowing with joy. O Lord, I want my life to be characterized by joy. Your very Word, spoken to me, is meant to give me joy that is full. I don't just want that for myself, but You want that for me. The very purpose of your Word is that through my obedience of your Word in my daily life I would have fullness of joy. O Lord may I and every woman studying Hebrews find the joy, your joy, full joy, in and through the Word you have spoken.

A Thought to Consider....

As I have been studying the first chapter of Hebrews, I have been convicted by the first two verses. You know how I love verbs......as I read there was a simple truth....."God spoke" and "God has spoken." God speaks to us today. Am I really listening? By nature, I am not the best listener. My mind is busy, I am a multi-tasker and I find myself half-listening many times. It makes me ask myself, "Am I listening to God like that...half-way?" We spend much of our day hearing, but are we really listening? There is a difference between listening and really hearing.

Many times in the Gospels Jesus cried out, "He who has ears, let him hear." (Matt 11:15, 13:9, 43)

This statement suggests that it takes more than physical ears to hear the voice of God. Our human ears hear many sounds, but there is a deeper kind of listening that results in spiritual understanding. May we seek God's will and search His Word listening for what He has for each of us and may our hearts be receptive and transformed by His message. May we stop and listen completely, not half-way or when it is convenient.

I am praying for you today. Be encouraged as you study WHO CHRIST IS!

Statements of Belief

We believe that God is the sovereign Lord of the universe and the Creator of all life, and that all created things exist for His pleasure and purpose to bring Him glory.

(1Cor 8:6, Col 1:16, Rev 4:11)

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who became flesh and made his dwelling among us. Jesus lived a sinless life and was the perfect sacrifice for our sins. He bore the punishment we deserved so we can be pure, blameless and righteous before God. He overcame death so that we can live. Jesus Christ is the only way to God the Father. All who believe in Him as their personal Lord and Savior shall not die but have eternal life.

We believe that we each have a responsibility to share the Gospel and live sacrificially being transformed by the renewing of our minds though His Word and the grace given to us.

The book of Hebrews emphasizes the superiority of our sympathetic, grace-giving Savior, Jesus Christ. Because of this, we can and should draw near to Him in worship, live by faith, persevere to the end, and live a life of love.

You can attend Wednesday mornings from 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. or Thursday evenings from 6:45 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

The Wednesday morning study offers childcare from ages Newborn through preK and a homeschool room for children K5 through 12th grade.

Good Morning Sisters!!!!

I find myself home this Monday morning so filled with the Lord that I am overflowing!! I am overwhelmed by what the Lord accomplished this weekend. I find myself just singing out to Him no matter what I am doing, raising my hands in praise and thanksgiving. The words, "And I give all myself to You." just keep resonating in my heart.

As I sit at my computer, I am so touched at the love and care of our Lord. His Presence in each of us. My eyes just fill with tears as I picture each of your faces as we met together. He truly went before us and prepared our hearts for His plans, His purposes, His Will, His HOPE!

From the moment I stepped my foot on those grounds I knew God was there and the Hope I have is that He is with me until the end of the age......with us always!! Take heart for He has overcome the world. That is the God that lives IN you. Never to leave you or forsake you, but to sustain you always for He is the God of Hope.

I want to share a devotion I read this morning. Read it as though it is Jesus speaking to you(my additions are in parenthesis).....

"Cry unto Me, and I will hear you and bless you. Use My unlimited stores (of hope) for your needs and those of others. Seek My wonderful truths and you shall find. There may come times when you sit in silence, when it seems as if you were left alone. Then, I command you to remember I have spoken to you, as I spoke at Emmaus (Retreat).......At the moment you are pilgrims and need only your daily marching orders, and strength and guidance for the day."

Trust His Word Ladies, lean on it heavily, helpless and dependent, but NEVER hopeless!!

I don't know what each of you returned home to. Maybe your soul was knocked right over and some of that hope spilled out. Maybe your soul was turned upside down and emptied.....now close your eyes and remember the visual when Tami kept knocking over the glass and spilling water out and filling it back up, spilling water out and filling it back up and not just to the top, but to overflowing!! That is how God intends for you to live regardless of the circumstance.

My prayer for you is Romans 15:13......"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Amen (So Be it!). Live today Hopefully Ever After!!

This past Wednesday, we had the opportunity to hear a little bit about the ministry Harriet's and visit the house, located right on CCC's property. If you missed Bible study Wednesday or weren't able to walk over to the open house, here's a little more information about this wonderful ministry opportunity!

Harriet's is a FREE Thrift Store and a Food Pantry at Clearwater Community Church. Harriet's offers clothing and food to those in need from our own church body, the Pregnancy Center, and people from the community who contact CCC for help. Harriet's, located in the little house on the church property on Belcher Road, is open on Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and Thursdays from 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. or by appointment.
